After his fiery statements yesterday, following Inter's 1-0 victory against Genoa, reported by the Corriere dello Sport, Grifoni president Enrico Preziosi offers a much owed explanation. His words arrive through the official Genoa website and discusses his post-match statements when he said Inter had behaved like a second rank team displaying a lack of sportsmanship. Here are his words:

“Following the words reported by the Corriere dello Sport, subject due to the rapid evolving of the situation to only partial reproduction, Genoa president Enrico Preziosi feels it necessary to explain that his words were directed to some of the Internazionale players who have partly demonstrated an unsportsmanlike behavior although they had often been appreciated for their professionalism and loyalty. Such statements were not directed to the Internazionale Club and/or referees, towards whom the club displays appreciation for the current performances.”
