In the recent weeks the name of Rodrigo Palacio has been associated several times to the Inter team. The friendly relations between the Nerazzurri and Genoa, combined with the necessity for an offensive man, have certainly contributed to the identifying of the Argentinian as a possible transfer target. Just as quickly as the rumours had appeared though, they disappeared, partly because both clubs have openly denied the deal even existing. FcInterNews.it has also investigated the issue, finding confirmation to the official statements of the clubs, in regard for both the January transfer window as well as next summer's. The truth is, that this deal is not something that is currently being discussed, although well informed sources tell us that some words were spent on the issue in the past without any results.

Just minor talking, nothing else, seems to have gone on between Inter and Genoa. It seems that the end to the talks was pushed forward by the clearly different views regarding the financial value of the player valued nine million Euros by the Milan team and fifteen by Genoa. Neither side seems too keen to change the initial position to satisfy the wants of the counter part. Due to this, the talks ended before they could become of any importance, and it does not seem likely that this might change in the near future. The real news that can be taken from this is the wish of the Inter managers to improve the team in the offensive sector with a player that can cover both the role of centre-forward as well as winger. To gain the services of such a player, Inter seems to have a budget of at least nine million: good news for all those who believed the team was not going to invest even part of the money gained in the summer.
